Nestled in the Nicola Valley of the Thompson Region of British Columbia, surrounded with rolling hills lies Merrit, B. C.

Arriving from the south on the Coquahalla Highway, the view is spectacular as the night sky gives way to the glistening lights of this little gem of a city saying, "Welcome and Peace".

To reach this reach this small community, known for it's Country Music Festival during the summer and lake fishing, is made easy with its excellent access by road. The scenic Coquahalla Highway and Connector to the Okanagon Valley pass by Merritt's door with thousands of travellers on their way to the Interior of B.C., Alberta and across Canada.

Jackie Evancho who will be twelve this coming April 9th, 2012 is a talented young singer. She lives in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her parents and several pets. Jackie's interests include playing the piano, violin and sewing. She attends a virtual learning school. This video is available on YouTube by clicking here . Vancouver Fan wears Rypien's Jersey

Rick Joseph Rypien (May 16, 1984 – August 15, 2011) who played for the Vancouver Canucks is honored by a loyal fan after his sudden death. Rypien's father was a Canadian boxing champion and his two brothers both played hockey. Mark Rypien, Rick's cousin, was the first Canadian quarterback to start in the NFL.  Rypien is still remembered in Vancouver for his contribution to the success of the team.  More ....

A Tribute to Rick Rypien

This NHL and Vancouver Canuck Tribute for Rick Rypien was held on Tuesday October 18, 2011 pre-game between the New York Rangers and the Vancouver Canucks.  Final score in that game was...
